Telangana signs MoU with KETO Motors for ₹300 crore electric bus plant, 2,000 jobs planned

Hyderabad-based electric vehicle manufacturer KETO Motors has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Telangana to set up an electric bus manufacturing facility in Jadcherla with an investment of ₹300 crore. The agreement was signed at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, held at Bharat Future City.

The proposed facility will manufacture 9-metre electric buses and is expected to generate more than 2,000 direct jobs within three years. The MoU was signed in the presence of D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs, Telangana.

Under the agreement, the Telangana government will support the project by enabling statutory and regulatory clearances through the TG-iPASS single-window approval system. The support aligns with the state’s efforts to strengthen clean mobility and electric vehicle manufacturing.

Minister D Sridhar Babu said, “Telangana continues to lead India’s transition to clean mobility by building a strong and future-ready electric vehicle ecosystem.”

He said the KETO Motors project would strengthen the EV value chain, support manufacturing growth, and create employment, while reaffirming the government’s focus on innovation and sustainable economic development.

Venkatesh Challa, Director at KETO Motors, said, “Telangana has emerged as one of the most forward-looking states for EV manufacturing and we are proud to deepen our presence here.”

He added that the Jadcherla facility would help the company expand production, build electric buses to global benchmarks, and contribute to India’s domestic manufacturing capabilities.

The MoU marks the start of a strategic partnership between KETO Motors and the Telangana government to support the state’s sustainable transportation goals and electric mobility ecosystem. Both sides will work together to ensure the establishment and operation of the Jadcherla facility.

KETO Motors' product portfolio includes electric autos and electric buses for urban and industrial use. Through a partnership with Tron Energy Technology, Taiwan’s largest electric bus original equipment manufacturer, the company is expanding its manufacturing capabilities in Hyderabad to serve domestic and export markets.
