Kotak Mahindra Bank shares currently have a face value of ₹5. The company has previously undertaken a stock split and issued bonus shares to shareholders.
In 2010, the bank split its shares by reducing the face value from ₹10 to ₹5. In 2015, it also issued bonus shares in a 1:1 ratio.
A stock split is typically carried out to increase the number of outstanding shares and improve liquidity by making the stock more affordable.
Apart from the split, Kotak Mahindra Bank has also rewarded shareholders through bonus issuances. In July 2015, the bank approved one bonus share for every share held.
The lender has been consistent with dividends as well. In the past 11 fiscal cycles since 2015, Kotak has issued dividends in 10 years, with 2020 being the only exception due to the pandemic.
Its first recorded dividend dates back to June 25, 2001, at ₹1.8 per share. Except for a six-year gap between 2002 and 2008, the bank has regularly paid dividends.
Among 43 analysts covering the stock, 29 have a 'Buy' rating, 10 recommend 'Hold', and 4 suggest 'Sell'.
Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank closed 0.38% lower at ₹2,098 on Thursday. The stock is up over 17% so far in 2025.
