What is the story about?
The US‑India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) is set to lead what is being described as the largest-ever US industry delegation to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, marking a visible push to deepen technology cooperation between the two countries. The event will run from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The summit is being organised by India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Its theme - People, Planet, Progress - frames discussions around practical and responsible uses of artificial intelligence rather than research alone.
USISPF leads largest US delegation to India AI summit
Ahead of the summit, USISPF announced a Board AI Task Force led by its chairman John Chambers. The group says it will focus on strengthening AI ecosystems in both countries and speeding up what it calls ‘population-scale’ deployment, while maintaining safeguards.
Chambers said the forum would use its experience in public–private partnerships to promote responsible AI development “for nearly two billion people” across India and the United States. He also described the US-India technology partnership as strategically significant in the current era.
As its first step, the task force will bring over 100 US companies to the summit, working with Indian ministries, industry leaders and research groups.
Who is attending from US industry and tech
USISPF confirmed it will serve as an official partner and lead a delegation of 120+ senior executives from sectors including technology, manufacturing, logistics and advanced services.
Names expected in the delegation include Brad Smith of Microsoft, Hemant Taneja of General Catalyst, Börje Ekholm of Ericsson, Bipul Sinha, Denise Dignam, Umesh Sachdev, and Raj Koneru.
The delegation is co-chaired by Shantanu Narayen of Adobe and Raj Subramaniam of FedEx.
Summit sessions and global context
USISPF will host a headline session titled ‘Scaling Trusted AI for 8 Billion+’ and a public event at The Leela Palace, New Delhi, on February 18, focused on infrastructure, skilling and welfare applications of AI.
The wider summit is expected to draw international ministers, heads of state and technology leaders. Among those anticipated are Sundar Pichai, Jensen Huang, Demis Hassabis, and Sam Altman, alongside Indian industry figures, including Mukesh Ambani and Nandan Nilekani.
Organisers say interest is high, with tens of thousands already registered. The summit is positioned as a platform for policy, industry coordination and cross-border AI standards discussions.
