Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) turned net sellers of Indian equities on Monday, offloading shares worth ₹576.20 crore on a provisional basis, according to exchange data. FIIs bought equities worth ₹10,637.17 crore and sold shares worth ₹11,213.37 crore during the session.
Domestic institutional investors (DIIs), meanwhile, remained net buyers, purchasing equities worth ₹2,797.27 crore. DIIs bought shares worth ₹14,098.64 crore and sold ₹11,301.37 crore during the session.
The FII selling came a day after foreign investors turned net buyers on Friday, purchasing equities worth ₹599.54 crore. DIIs were also net buyers on Friday, with purchases exceeding sales by around ₹1,020 crore.

Over the four trading sessions from September 15 to September 18, FIIs made gross purchases worth ₹73,377.14 crore against gross sales of ₹80,996.83 crore, resulting in net outflows of ₹7,619.69 crore.
DIIs moved in the opposite direction, buying equities worth ₹61,916.62 crore and selling shares worth ₹50,684.90 crore. This translated into net purchases of ₹11,231.72 crore over the four sessions.
FII selling was recorded in three of the four sessions. The highest net outflow came on September 17 at ₹3,208.76 crore, followed by ₹2,977.86 crore on September 15 and ₹2,032.61 crore on September 16. FIIs turned net buyers on September 18, with purchases exceeding sales by ₹599.54 crore.
DIIs, meanwhile, remained net buyers throughout the four sessions, with their strongest buying recorded on September 17 at ₹3,617.75 crore.
Sensex jumps 564 points, Nifty ends above 23,400
Separately, Indian equity markets ended higher on Monday, with the Nifty rising 68 points to 23,414 and extending its gains for a fourth straight session. The Sensex gained 564 points to 74,859. The Nifty Bank rose 112 points to 56,471, while the Midcap index fell 178 points to 62,013.
Pharma stocks surged, with Cohance Lifesciences gaining over 5% despite US FDA observations for its API unit. Reliance Industries, ITC and HDFC Bank were the biggest contributors to the Nifty’s gains. Patanjali Foods jumped nearly 8% following positive commentary to CNBC-TV18.
Capital market stocks ended lower, with BSE falling nearly 3%. OFSS declined over 8% amid reports of concerns related to its parent company’s debt. Lenskart and Anupam Rasayan fell over 3% each following large trades through block deals.
