Vishnu Prakash R Punglia Limited said on Wednesday, January 14, it has received a termination notice from North Western Railway in respect of a contract awarded for execution of works related to the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur doubling project.
The scope of the contract included “earthwork in filling and cutting, blanketing, construction of station buildings, electrical and signalling and telecommunication (S&T) structures, passenger and goods platforms, platform shelters, footbridges, passenger amenities,
staff quarters, limited height subways (LHS), road under bridges (RUBs), minor bridges, retaining walls, toe walls, pitching work, and other ancillary works between Jaipur and Chaksu stations from km 131.270 to km 87.60,” as per an exchange filing.

The company informed that the railway authority has rescinded the contract, and the balance work under the project will now be carried out independently without the participation of Vishnu Prakash R Punglia Limited.
The company has disclosed that the expected financial implication of the termination is ₹8.87 crore.
In response, Vishnu Prakash R Punglia Limited has initiated legal action by filing a writ petition along with a stay application before the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur, on January 14, 2026. The company has sought quashing of the order rescinding the contract and has requested the railway department to refrain from encashing the bank guarantee.

Shares of Vishnu Prakash R Punglia Limited (VPRPL) closed at ₹49.60, up ₹0.43 or 0.87%, in today’s session.
