The country's second-largest sugar producer, Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd
, on Tuesday (February 10), reported net profit of ₹113.4 crore for the third quarter, compared with ₹70.5 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter stood at ₹1,454 crore, as against ₹1,192 crore in the same period of the previous year.
EBITDA for the quarter was reported at ₹202 crore, compared with ₹123.5 crore in the year-ago quarter. EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 13.9%, compared with 10.4% in the corresponding quarter last year.
Balrampur Chini said it has considered and designated Mamta Binani, Independent Director, as the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the company, with immediate effect from February 10, 2026.
The company said the impact on employee benefit expenses related to gratuity and leave encashment, amounting to ₹36.49 lakh as determined actuarially, has been recognised as past service cost towards employees’ benefit obligations during the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2025. This has resulted in a corresponding reduction in profit before tax and an increase in employee benefit expenses.
Balrampur Chini said the implications of the Labour Codes are currently under evaluation. The company added that it continues to monitor developments related to the implementation and finalisation of Central and State Rules, and related clarifications. The impact will be given effect upon determination in a subsequent period.
