Dalal Street looks on a path of recovery as the Nifty rises over 70 points, taking the index close to 25,600. This is a crucial session for Nifty, as the index is coming on the back of two straight weekly losses in what could be the final week of this quarter's earnings season.

The Sensex index is also on the rise, as the index is up 400 points, surging to 83,600 mark.

The US Senate has officially voted to end the longest government shutdown in US history. This could aid the markets further in today's trade.

For Nifty, it will also look at the downside; Friday's low of 25,318 also becomes a key level.

Some of the biggest gainers among the Nifty 500 stocks  right now include HBL Engineering, National Aluminium, Reliance Power, Torrent Pharma, Garden Reach, JB Chemicals among others.

Today's session will see earnings from companies like Vodafone Idea, Bajaj Finance and ONGC, among others, while Bajaj Auto, Trent, NALCO, and Torrent Pharma, among other,s will also be reacting to their results.
