Shares of Bharat Forge Ltd were in focus on Tuesday, June 16, after its wholly owned defence subsidiary, Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd (KSSL), unveiled the Simha 4x4, a next-generation light armoured multi-purpose vehicle, at the Eurosatory 2026 defence exhibition in Paris.
Developed in partnership with global defence and aerospace company Paramount, the Simha 4x4 has been designed for armed forces across India, Africa, South Asia and other international markets.
The companies said the vehicle combines mobility, protection and mission flexibility, making it suitable for urban warfare, reconnaissance, border protection, troop transport and special operations.

According to the company, the vehicle features a modular architecture that allows upgrades and customisation, while enabling users to streamline maintenance and supply chains. Bharat Forge said the platform has been engineered using NATO-qualified aggregates and can be adapted for multiple mission requirements.
Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, said the Simha 4x4 demonstrates the company's engineering and defence capabilities on the global stage.
"Europeanized by design, and built around NATO-qualified aggregates, it is engineered for rapid industrialisation in partner nations across the world," Kalyani said. He added that the platform reflects India's ability to deliver advanced defence solutions while enabling partner countries to build local manufacturing capabilities.

Paramount Senior Vice President Eric Ichikowitz said defence forces globally are seeking adaptable platforms capable of performing multiple missions and integrating emerging technologies.
"The Simha combines protection, mobility, modularity and affordability in a platform that can evolve alongside changing operational needs," he said, adding that the vehicle highlights the benefits of strategic industrial partnerships in developing next-generation military solutions.
The companies said the Simha 4x4 has been designed to support local industrialisation and sovereign production objectives, allowing rapid localisation and manufacturing in partner nations. The vehicle forms part of a broader portfolio of defence products being jointly developed by KSSL and Paramount.
KSSL is the defence arm of Bharat Forge and manufactures artillery systems, armoured vehicles, ammunition, marine platforms and unmanned systems for domestic and international customers.
Shares of the company closed 0.47% lower at ₹2,011 ahead of the announcement on Tuesday. The stock has gained more than 33% so far in 2026 and 52% over the last 12 months.
