The Nifty heads into the final trading session of this truncated week on the back of four days of declines in the last five trading sessions. The index has lost over 500 points from the October 30 high of 26,032.

Thursday was another session where the Nifty broke below the 25,500 mark intraday and closed just at the October 17 low of 25,508. Reliance Industries was the only saving grace on Thursday, which kept the Nifty losses in check. In levels to watch, the Nifty is exactly at the 38.2% retracement of its recent rally, which comes to 25,524.

Further downside is a 50% retracement, which comes in at 25,345. Results season is in its final legs but with multiple important names reporting results. Reactions come from Apollo Hospitals, Birlasoft, Bajaj Housing Finance, LIC, HCC, NHPC among other names. Bajaj Auto, Trent, and Hindalco are the Nifty names reporting results today, along with Divi's Laboratories, Kalyan Jewellers, Petronet LNG, NALCO, Torrent Pharma, Gujarat Gas, among other names.

For the week, the Nifty is down 0.8%, while the Nifty Bank is down 0.4%. Watch out for the broader markets as they were the bigger underperformers yesterday with extreme earnings reactions. At least 30 stocks on the BSE Smallcap index were down between 7% to 20% on Thursday.
