Ashoka Buildcon Ltd on Saturday announced that it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the North Western Railway, Ajmer, for a project valued at ₹539.35 crore, inclusive of GST.
The project involves upgrading the Northern Railway’s existing electric traction system from 1 x 25 kV to 2 x 25 kV, effectively doubling its power capacity to enable faster and more energy-efficient train operations. It also includes modifying the existing overhead equipment (OHE) to support speeds of up to 160
kmph across key sections of the Ajmer Division.
The scope of work covers the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the traction system across the Ajmer–Chittorgarh (AII–COR), Chittorgarh–Udaipur (COR–UDZ), Madar–Bangarh (MD–BWA) and Bangarh–Palanpur (BWA–PNU) sections — spanning about 660 route kilometres and 1,200 track kilometres.
The order, awarded by the President of India acting through the Chief Electrical Engineer (Project), North Western Railway, Jaipur, is to be executed within a period of 24 months from the date of issuance of the LoA, the company said in a stock exchange filing.
Earlier in August, the infrastructure major reported strong Q1 FY26 earnings, with net profit rising 44.6% year-on-year to ₹217.3 crore, supported by improved operating margins.
The company is scheduled to announce its Q2 results on November 14.
As of Friday, shares of Ashoka Buildcon Ltd closed 0.77% lower at ₹199.16 on the NSE.
