Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty enters today's weekly expiry session having gained nearly 700 points across Friday and Monday on a closing basis. The swift upmove from last week's lows around 23,150 has resulted in some buyer's exhaustion at higher levels. The index briefly crossed 24,000 intraday, but could not sustain above it.

That 24,000 level remains key for the index to unlock the next leg of upmove.

The Nifty Bank has been the bigger outperformer, gaining 2,000 points in two sessions and the exhaustion at higher levels was much more pronounced there with the index cooling over 600 points from the day's high.

A couple of key questions to ask are whether Monday's FII buying figure will be a sustained trend? and whether underperformers of the past will lead the next leg of recovery, as evident from the price action in stocks like HDB Financial, Trent, and Kalyan Jewellers on Monday.

The supply of paper though, continues ahead of the quarter ending with another OFS and more QIPs coming. Watch for stocks like GIC, Craftsman Automation, banking stocks, HCLTech, OMCs, GMR Airports and more.
