What is the story about?
The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) will lead the largest-ever US business delegation to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, highlighting growing collaboration between the American and Indian technology sectors.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of the Government of India is organising the summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16–20, 2026. The theme of the Summit, "People, Planet, Progress," highlights a global movement to make AI more powerful, equitable, and socially good.
The World AI Summit is the first to be held in the Global South, according to the government. Reports indicate that over 35,000 people from all over the world have already registered for the summit, indicating the high level of interest.
Launch of AI board task force
John Chambers (Chairman, USISPF) chaired the AI Board Task Force, which was announced alongside its Summit cooperation. The task group seeks to strengthen artificial intelligence ecosystems, promote population-scale effects in India and the United States, and expedite the adoption of ethical AI.
With a shared duty for inclusive and trustworthy technology growth, chambers underlined that the US-India partnership—especially in the area of Artificial Intelligence—represents a defining strategic alliance of the modern era.
“We will use USISPF's extensive experience in public-private partnerships to ensure AI's responsible development and implementation for nearly two billion people across our countries,” said John Chambers in USISPF press release.
“I am confident that this new taskforce will encourage the United States and India to lead in this field and promote global talks on AI, trust, and competitive AI ecosystems,” he added.
Leading a delegation of more than 100 US enterprises to the India AI Summit as its first move, USISPF's AI task force will collaborate with the Indian government, business titans, and other important stakeholders to promote inclusive, scalable, and trustworthy AI.
USISPF partnership and delegation leadership
With its announcement, USISPF reaffirmed its position as an Official Partner of the Summit, where it will head a delegation of over 120 senior US industry leaders from key industries, such as advanced services, manufacturing, technology, and logistics.
The delegation will reportedly include Brad Smith of Microsoft, Hemant Taneja of General Catalyst, and Borje Ekholm of Ericsson, Bipul Sinha of Rubrik, Denise Dignam of Chemours, Umesh Sachdev of Uniphore, Raj Koneru of Kore.ai, and others.
The delegation will be co-chaired by Shantanu Narayen (Vice Chair of USISPF; Chair and CEO, Adobe) and Raj Subramaniam (Vice Chair, USISPF; President and CEO, FedEx).
Summit engagement and events
USISPF will hold a headline session at the summit, which is regarded as one of the most important international AI events, called ‘Scaling Trusted AI for 8 Billion+’. It will feature prominent global industry leaders, senior business executives and politicians, discussing how to create inclusive, safe, and compatible AI systems that tackle societal issues.
Additionally, USISPF will host a high-profile public event at The Leela Palace in New Delhi on February 18 that will talk about AI infrastructure, welfare-focused deployment, and skills development for the AI era.
