The government has extended the additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Cochin Shipyard Ltd
held by Jose V J, Director (Finance), for a further period of seven months with effect from August 1, 2026, the company said in an exchange filing.
The extension was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) under the Department of Personnel and Training and communicated by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways on July 29, 2026, according to the filing.

The arrangement will remain in force until a regular incumbent assumes charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Cochin Shipyard informed the stock exchanges that the communication has been placed on record as a general update for shareholders and other stakeholders.
Shares of Cochin Shipyard closed 1.26% higher at ₹1,400 on the NSE on Wednesday.
