Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Today is the Sensex weekly options expiry session. The Nifty though, finds itself stuck below the 24,500 mark, although a late charge from the Nifty Bank on Wednesday ensured that the index managed to close above 24,400.

Having underperformed for a better part of the last two weeks, the Nifty Bank finally stepped up in mid-week trading, closing near the mark of 58,000. For the Nifty though, it was a 200-plus-point range after a while in a single session and Wednesday's low of 24,265 will be key to defend on the downside.

24,500 remains that one level to conquer on the upside. Crossing and sustaining above 58,000 will be positive for the banking bulls and they would hope the PSU Banking pack outperforms again as it did on Wednesday.

The last major day of the results season for the quarter will see names like Ashok Leyland, LG Electronics India among others report results. Also keep an eye on further selling in Tata Group stocks and Godrej Consumer Products. MSCI reshuffle has been announced and those stocks could also potentially see a reaction today.
