PC Jeweller’s Q1 profit jumps 37% as operating earnings nearly double

PC Jeweller’s consolidated profit after tax (PAT) or net profit rose 37.2% year-on-year to ₹222 crore in the first quarter of financial year 2026-27, compared with ₹161.9 crore a year earlier. The jewellery retailer’s revenue from operations increased 21% to ₹877.04 crore from ₹724.91 crore, while operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) climbed 89.7% to ₹241.56 crore from ₹127.3 crore.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, PAT increased 45.32% from ₹152.89 crore in the March quarter, while revenue from operations declined 5.4% from ₹927.34 crore.

Fundraising and expansion

During the quarter, PC Jeweller completed a ₹2,702.11 crore fundraising through a preferential issue of fully convertible warrants, with 93% of the issue proceeds realised. Since the end of the quarter, promoters have converted an additional 4.16 crore warrants into equity shares.

In July, the board approved a proposal to raise up to ₹1,000 crore through a qualified institutional placement (QIP), subject to the required approvals.

The company also expanded its activities beyond its core retail operations during the quarter. Its step-down subsidiary, PCJ Mining SARL, received a licence for semi-mechanised artisanal gold mining in Chad. PC Jeweller also entered into memorandums of understanding with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Uttar Pradesh government under the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan scheme.

As of June 30, 2026, the jeweller had a total retail area of 2.05 lakh square feet, with its showroom network spread across 12 states, in addition to its e-commerce platform.

Under its partnership with NSDC, PC Jeweller will act as the industry and franchise partner for the gems and jewellery sector under the National Entrepreneurs Empowerment Drive (NEED). The initiative envisages onboarding up to 2,00,000 micro-entrepreneurs across India over five years under the PC Jeweller brand.

Shares of PC Jeweller ended at ₹9.77 on August 10, unchanged on the day. The stock has gained 1.87% over the past week and 3.37% in three months, while it is up 3.04% year to date. Over a one-year period, however, the stock has declined 29.15%, while it has gained 257.09% over the past three years.
