Akasa Air on Saturday, July 4, has taken delivery of its 40th aircraft, marking a fleet milestone as the airline continues to expand its domestic and international network.
According to PTI, the airline said that the latest addition is a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200, registered as VT-YBQ. With the induction, Akasa Air has received nine new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft so far this year.
Akasa Air founder and chief executive Vinay Dube said the delivery marked an important milestone for the carrier.
"There is a huge excitement with the 40th aircraft and a big milestone for the airline," Dube told PTI.

According to the airline, the aircraft's delivery journey began in Seattle in the United States, with a stop in Reykjavik, Iceland, before the final leg from Cairo, Egypt, to Bengaluru.
Akasa Air, which started commercial operations in August 2022, currently operates flights to 28 domestic and seven international destinations. The airline has placed an order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft as part of its fleet expansion plans.
