What is the story about?
Mental healthcare provider Amaha is set to close a ₹100 crore fundraise to expand its hospital and clinic network across India.
The company plans to use the capital to strengthen clinical capabilities, invest in technology and improve access to specialist care for people living with moderate to severe mental illness and their families.
The company expects its post-money valuation to be between ₹340 crore and ₹350 crore.
The round includes existing investors Lightbox Ventures and Fireside Ventures, alongside London-based life skills platform Sandbox International Holdings Limited (SIHL) and Nithin Kamath through Rainmatter.
It also includes the family offices of Shreyas Shibulal, Ashish Bharat Ram and Adarsh Jalan, along with ₹10 crore in debt financing from Alteria Capital.
Clinical expansion
Amaha plans to open new hospitals and clinics in key Indian cities, expand clinical training and supervision, and strengthen evidence-based treatment protocols.
It will also invest in artificial intelligence-enabled tools for triage and clinician support, as well as data analytics to coordinate treatment and track patient outcomes.
Founded in 2016 by psychiatrist and healthcare entrepreneur Amit Malik, Amaha offers digital self-care, online consultations, outpatient and inpatient treatment, and community support.
Its services cover conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, addiction, schizophrenia and personality disorders.
Mental health gap
Amaha’s Mental Health Report 2026, based on responses from 13,825 people, found that 53% had experienced mental health concerns for more than a year before seeking professional help. Another 94.9% reported experiencing two or more concerns simultaneously.
Amaha operates nine centres across Bengaluru, Delhi NCR and Mumbai, offering services in more than 15 languages.
It reports over 450,000 therapy and psychiatry sessions delivered to more than 100,000 clients, a network of over 270 mental health professionals and peer support communities with more than 65,000 members.
The company launched a 27-bed mental health hospital in Bengaluru in 2025. Its second hospital, with 55 beds, is scheduled to begin operations in South Bengaluru at the end of December 2026.
