What is the story about?
Larsen and Toubro Ltd. (L&T) on Wednesday, December 17, said its buildings and factories business vertical recently won multiple "large" orders in India.
L&T classifies orders in the ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore range as "large" orders.
The vertical secured an order from Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation to construct Advait Lok at Omkareshwar in Khandwa district.
The engineering, procurement an construction (EPC) order is for the development of a global museum and will comprise large-scale intricate stone carvings and glass fibre reinforced concrete architectural elements. The museum will showcase the life and philosophy of Acharya Shankar via curated exhibits.
The scope of work includes civil structure and architectural finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, external development including parking facilities and operation and maintenance for five years. The project is to be delivered in 36 months.
The buildings and factories vertical also received an EPC order from the Assam government for the redevelopment of RG Baruah Sports Complex at Sarusajai in Guwahati. The project involves the construction of a FIFA-compliant football stadium with a seating capacity of 25,000 people. The project also includes developing a range of sports and allied facilities. It is to be delivered in 27 months.
The business vertical secured another order from a reputed developer to construct luxury high-rise residential towers in Mumbai. The project includes three towers with 45-66 upper floors, incorporating reinforced concrete shell and core structures, premium finishes and comprehensive MEP services. The towers will rise to a height of up to 230 metre.
Last week, brokerage firm Goldman Sachs upgraded the stock to "buy" from "neutral" and raised its price target to ₹5,000 from ₹3,730
L&T shares were trading 0.1% lower at ₹4,059.7 apiece. The stock has gained 10.7% this year, so far.
