Airports operator GMR Airports Ltd (GML) on Monday (June 15) reported its monthly traffic update for May 2026, showing strong passenger volumes across its airport portfolio, led by robust growth at Delhi Airport.
The group handled around 11 million passengers in May 2026 across its portfolio airports, up 6.1% year-on-year. Domestic traffic stood at 8.3 million passengers, while international traffic was 2.4 million. Monthly passenger traffic has remained around 10 million since October 2025.
For the year-to-date FY27 period, total passenger traffic crossed 20.4 million, with domestic passengers at 15.8 million and international passengers at 4.6 million. Delhi Airport accounted for around 68% of the total traffic.

Delhi Airport reported 7.17 million passengers in May 2026, rising 14.7% year-on-year, including 5.4 million domestic passengers and 1.8 million international passengers.
The company noted that international traffic was impacted due to ongoing geopolitical instability in the Middle East since February 28, 2026, which weighed on cross-border travel flows.
Hyderabad Airport handled 2.55 million passengers, down 8.6% year-on-year. Mopa Airport recorded 0.43 million passengers, while Medan Airport reported 0.49 million passengers. Cebu Airport handled 1.02 million passengers.
Aircraft movements rose 2.3% year-on-year to 66,434 across the portfolio, excluding Cebu.

Delhi Airport reported cargo volumes of about 1.1 lakh metric tonnes in May 2026, up 14% year-on-year, while year-to-date cargo volumes stood at 2.1 lakh metric tonnes, up 11.3%.
Delhi Airport continued to expand connectivity, serving 161 destinations worldwide, including 89 domestic and 72 international routes. Hyderabad Airport connects 100 destinations globally.
Bhogapuram Airport achieved about 99.4% overall completion as of May 31, 2026, with airside works nearly complete and the terminal and ATC tower nearing completion.
Fourth Quarter Results
GMR Airports reported a net profit of ₹302.5 crore for the January-March quarter, compared with a loss of ₹237.6 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue for the quarter rose 37.5% year-on-year to ₹3,938.2 crore from ₹2,863.3 crore a year earlier.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 43.1% to ₹1,444.7 crore in the fourth quarter, compared with ₹1,009.3 crore last year. EBITDA margin improved to 36.7% from 35.3% a year ago.
The revenue for the full year FY26 stood at ₹14,807.41 crore compared with ₹10,414.24 crore last year, while the net profit was at ₹175.49 crore versus a net loss of ₹392.85 crore last year.
According to the company’s investor presentation, GMR Airport-owned airports handled 31.7 million passengers during the quarter, up 0.7% year-on-year. Domestic passenger traffic grew 1.5%, while international passenger traffic declined 1.6%.
