NTPC Green Energy Ltd. said it has decided to issue unsecured non-convertible debentures (NCDs) worth ₹2,500 crore on July 9, 2026, through a private placement, according to a regulatory filing.
The debentures will carry a coupon of 7.27% per annum and have a tenor of 10 years, maturing on July 9, 2036.
The company said this is the first issue of debentures under the approval granted by its board of directors on May 22, 2026.
The proceeds of the issue will be utilised, among other things, for financing capital expenditure, including refinancing and recoupment of capital expenditure already incurred by the company, extending
such financing for capital expenditure to its subsidiaries and joint ventures through inter-corporate loans, and for other general corporate purposes.
The debentures are proposed to be listed on the NSE. The company added that the debenture trust deed will be executed within the period prescribed under the applicable regulations.
In a separate filing, company informed that the first part capacity of 50.4 MW of the Vanki Wind Energy Project in Nakhatrana, Kutch, Gujarat, developed by its wholly owned subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd., has been declared under commercial operation with effect from 00:00 hours on July 8, 2026.
Following the commissioning, the commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy group stands at 10,671.40 MW, the company said in regulatory filing.
With the addition of the 50.4 MW capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy group will increase to 10,721.80 MW.
Shares of NTPC Green Energy Ltd. ended 2.56% lower at ₹92.60 on the NSE on Tuesday.
