Aarti Industries secures long-term methanol, toluene supply contracts

Aarti Industries Ltd on Thursday, December 18, said it has signed multiple long-term supply contracts for key raw materials methanol and toluene, strengthening feedstock security for its specialty chemicals business.

In an exchange filing, the company said the contracts have been signed with global manufacturers and suppliers across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and South-East Asia.

While financial details and contract tenures were not disclosed, Aarti Industries said the agreements are expected to cover a substantial portion of its annual methanol and toluene requirements.

“Securing reliable access to critical feedstocks is central to our growth strategy and customer commitments. These long-term supply agreements enhance the robustness of our supply chain, provide greater operating certainty, and strengthen our ability to serve customers consistently across global markets," Aarti Industries Limited CEO and Executive Director Suyog Kotecha said.

Methanol and toluene are critical inputs for Aarti Industries’ downstream portfolio, which caters to sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, FMCG and advanced industrial applications. The company said the long-term arrangements will provide better cost visibility, supply predictability and operational continuity, especially amid volatile global trade and supply-chain conditions.

The company reported a strong set of numbers for Q2 FY26, with net profit rising to ₹106 crore, nearly double the ₹52 crore recorded in the same period last year. Revenue from operations increased 12% year-on-year to ₹2,100 crore, compared with ₹1,628 crore a year ago. EBITDA grew 47.7% to ₹291 crore, while the EBITDA margin improved to 13.9% from 12.1%, supported by better realisations and operational efficiencies.

Shares of Aarti Industries surged to intraday highs of ₹369.45 around 10:20 am, but have since come down and are trading at ₹366 at 11:10 am, still up 0.49% from the opening price of the stock on Friday, December 19.
