What is the story about?
InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy on Tuesday (September 1) announced the consolidation of their businesses, creating a pan-India insurance distribution platform with a combined premium book of more than ₹6,600 crore as of March 31, 2026.
The combined entity will operate under the InsuranceDekho brand, with InsuranceDekho founder and CEO Ankit Agrawal leading the business. The founders of both companies will continue with the merged organisation.
According to the companies, the consolidated business generated more than ₹6,600 crore in premium through its point-of-sale person (POSP)-driven distribution network in FY26. It has more than six lakh digital partners and reaches 98.57% of India's PIN codes.
The companies said the two businesses have facilitated the issuance of more than two crore insurance policies since inception as of March 31, 2026.
The consolidation brings together InsuranceDekho's distribution presence in northern and western India with RenewBuy's network in southern India. The combined platform will distribute motor, health, life and commercial insurance products from multiple insurers.
The companies said the platform will also integrate their technology and digital distribution capabilities, including AI-based tools for plan recommendations and automated partner onboarding.
The combined business will continue to work with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and other stakeholders as the integration progresses.
The consolidation comes as insurance distributors use digital platforms and partner networks to expand access beyond major urban centres. The companies said their immediate focus will be on integrating the two businesses while maintaining services for customers and distribution partners.
