Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country’s largest passenger vehicle maker, on Thursday announced a price hike of up to ₹30,000 across its model range from June 2026, citing persistent inflationary pressures and an adverse cost environment.
The company said it has been making continuous efforts over recent months to absorb rising input costs through internal cost reduction measures. However, with inflationary pressures remaining elevated, the automaker said it would now pass on part of the increased costs to customers while attempting to minimise the impact as much as possible.
The proposed increase will vary across models and variants. Maruti Suzuki currently sells vehicles ranging from the entry-level S-Presso to the premium Invicto MPV, priced between ₹3.49 lakh and ₹28.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
The announcement comes months after the company had reduced prices of several entry-level models following the implementation of GST 2.0 in September last year. Price cuts at the time included reductions of up to ₹1.29 lakh on the S-Presso, ₹1.07 lakh on the Alto K10 and ₹79,600 on the Wagon-R.
The company has also been expanding manufacturing capacity to support future growth. Earlier this week, Maruti Suzuki announced the start of commercial production at the second plant of its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana, adding another 2.5 lakh units of annual capacity. With this, the company’s total production capacity across India has risen to 26.5 lakh vehicles annually.

In the March quarter, Maruti Suzuki reported a 29% rise in revenue to ₹52,449 crore, while EBITDA increased 44% year-on-year. However, net profit declined 3% due to lower other income and a higher tax outgo.
