The announcement followed a meeting at the World Economic Forum 2026 between Nicolas Hieronimus, Chief Executive Officer of L’Oréal, and senior officials from the Government of Telangana, including IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar.
L’Oréal said it will invest more than ₹3,500 crore (€350 million) in the Hyderabad Tech Hub by 2030. The facility is expected to generate around 2,000 high-skilled jobs, including roles for AI specialists, data scientists and technology engineers.
According to the company, the Hyderabad hub will serve as a global centre for developing and scaling AI-powered beauty technologies, including work in data science, generative AI and agent-based AI systems. It will be integrated into L’Oréal’s global network of technology hubs located in countries such as France, the United States, China, Singapore, Spain, Poland, Canada, Brazil and Mexico.
The project is being positioned as part of the 2026 India–France Year of Innovation and is aimed at strengthening technology collaboration between the two countries. L’Oréal said the hub would focus on building digital and AI-led solutions from India for global deployment, while also contributing to local talent development.
Welcoming the investment, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said in a statement that the project aligned with the state government’s long-term development roadmap, which aims to position Telangana as a global centre for AI and digital capabilities.
"This partnership directly supports our ‘Telangana Rising: 2047 Vision’ by creating 2,000 high-value jobs and positioning our state as a global epicentre for AI and digital excellence," he said.
L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus said the company’s decision builds on its three-decade presence in India and leverages the country’s technology and engineering talent to support its global digital strategy.
"We believe that the future of beauty lies at the intersection of science, technology and creativity, so Hyderabad will now sit at the heart of our AI and digital ambition. This first-of-its-kind Beauty Tech Hub reinforces our commitment to India’s growth and our leading role in the 2026 India-France Year of Innovation," he added.
State IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the establishment of the Tech Hub underscores Telangana’s efforts to attract global technology investments and co-create advanced digital solutions with multinational companies.
Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, said the new facility complements the state’s broader push to scale AI adoption across government and industry, including the recently launched Telangana AI Hub.
With the Hyderabad Tech Hub, L’Oréal said it aims to deepen India’s role in its global transformation and strengthen the country’s position in its long-term technology and innovation strategy.
