Adani Green Energy shares worth ₹2,718 crore change hands in block deal; Stock gains

Shares of Adani Green Energy Ltd. are trading with gains of nearly 2% on Wednesday, December 10, after a large trade that took place on the stock.

As many as 2.8 crore shares of Adani Green Energy changed hands in the large trade that took place that took place on Wednesday in the pre-open block window.

The number of shares that changed hands amount to 1.7% of the total outstanding equity for Adani Green Energy.

Shares changed hands at an average price of ₹970 per share, taking the total transaction value to ₹2,718 crore.

Buyers and sellers in the transaction are not officially known yet.

Promoters of Adani Green Energy had a 62.43% stake in the company at the end of the September quarter.

Among public shareholders, Mutual Funds had a 1.64% stake, while Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) had a 1.3% stake. GQG Partners had a 1.85% stake, while FPIs in total have a 11.29% stake in Adani Green.

As many as 9.6 lakh retail shareholders or those with authorized share capital of up to ₹2 lakh, had a 3.25% stake in the company.

Shares of Adani Green Energy are trading 1.3% higher on Wednesday at ₹1,012.3. The stock is down 3% on a year-to-date basis.
