What is the story about?
Shares of PVR Inox Ltd. were trading with gains of up to 7% on Monday, December 15, on the back of the strong box office performance of Dhurandhar. The stock has risen today after seven consecutive sessions of decline.
The Aditya Dhar directed spy thriller is making history, recording the highest second Saturday collection in Hindi cinema with ₹53 crore on December 13.
On Sunday, Hindi occupancy stood at 76.84%, with the film estimated to have earned ₹59 crore for the day.
Dhurandhar had already collected ₹75 crore in its opening weekend, followed by an estimated ₹112 crore in its second weekend.
The film's total box office collection has reached ₹351 crore so far, with a sequel already confirmed for release in March 2026.
The company has opened five new screens at Inorbit Mall, Cyberabad, Hyderabad, transforming the cinema into an 11-screen superplex.
The superplex features three premium formats — Luxe, PXL, and 4DX. Along with the mainstream screens, these come together to create the 11-screen setup.
PXL, introduced for the first time in Telangana, features a 55 foot wide screen, RGB laser projection, Dolby Atmos sound, and recliner seating. The 4DX screen, now the third in the city, offers motion seats and effects such as wind, fog, scent, water, and snow, enhancing the viewing experience in Hyderabad. These premium formats are part of the five newly added screens, which join the existing six to form the 11-screen superplex.
With this launch, PVR INOX now operates the largest multiplex network, with 1,772 screens across 355 properties in 111 cities in India and Sri Lanka.
