DoorDash plans to hire more than 3,000 professionals within two years, as the company opened its talent hub in Hyderabad, Telangana.
"The Hyderabad hub is expected to grow to a 3,000-plus strong headcount, bringing global capabilities in hyperlocal commerce, customer experience, technology and operations to Hyderabad," said D Sridhar Babu, Telangana's Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries and Commerce, and Legislative Affairs.
The company said in a press release that it would start by hiring 500 professionals.

The global commerce platform will set up its hub in the Hitec City area. The facility would initially house a Customer Experience and Integrity (CXI) team and a General & Administration (G&A) team and is expected to support DoorDash's global operations and help deliver reliable experiences for consumers and traders on the platform.
The hub's employees would assist in operations involving more than 56 million monthly active consumers, across a geographical area that houses over 1 billion people, the statement said.
The CXI operation also marks the company's third internal service centre globally. The other two are located in Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City. More specialised integrity, fraud-review and technical capabilities may be added over time, the statement noted.
"Establishing DoorDash's first hub in India is an important milestone in expanding our global operations network," said Jenna Kohnke, Senior Director, Workforce Strategy and Talent Acquisition Operations at the company. "We look forward to creating meaningful career opportunities and building alongside the incredible talent in the region," she said.
Hyderabad hosts more than 500 global capability centres (GCCs). Under its broader GCC expansion strategy, the government aims to attract over 100 additional centres, create more than one lakh high-value jobs and generate over three lakh indirect jobs.
