Engineers India (EIL) reported a landmark financial year in FY26, with turnover reaching a record ₹3,849 crore and net profit rising to an all-time high of ₹638 crore, according to Chairman and Managing Director Atul Gupta.
The company's order book stood at ₹15,109 crore at the end of FY26, while order inflow during the year was ₹7,978 crore. Its current order book has since risen to around ₹17,000 crore.
EIL also saw an improvement in operating profitability, with operating margin rising to 16.22% in FY26 from 14.76% a year earlier. EBITDA margin increased to 21.61% from 20.60%.
The company has already secured ₹3,565 crore worth of orders in FY27, comprising ₹2,492 crore of domestic orders and ₹1,073 crore of international orders.
For the first quarter of FY27, EIL's turnover stood at around ₹800 crore, while segmental profit was ₹142 crore. In Q1 FY26, revenue had risen 39.4% year-on-year to ₹870 crore, while EBITDA increased 40.3% to ₹72.1 crore. Net profit, however, declined 28.6% to ₹65.4 crore from ₹91.6 crore in the year-ago quarter. Operating margin was broadly stable at 8.3% versus 8.2%.
EIL is targeting 10% revenue growth in FY27 while seeking to maintain operating margins in the 14-16% range. Gupta had earlier said the company expected order inflows to accelerate over the remaining quarters of FY27, with the first quarter typically being a weaker period for order bookings.
The Navratna public sector engineering consultancy is also looking to diversify beyond its traditional oil and gas business into areas including metals, nuclear energy, infrastructure, data centres, fertilisers and maritime projects.
The company expects its healthy order book and execution pipeline to support growth through the year.
EIL's consultancy business accounted for a larger share of revenue in the April-June quarter, while the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) segment saw a temporary decline as some projects approached completion.
Gupta had said the revenue mix, typically around 55% consultancy and 45% EPC, was expected to normalise in the subsequent quarters. The company also expects to sustain its EBITDA margins despite a recovery in the EPC contribution.
EIL's international business was temporarily affected by geopolitical tensions in West Asia, although the company secured around ₹500 crore of orders from the region in the April-June quarter.
Gupta had said the company expected activity from major West Asia customers, including Saudi Aramco and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), to improve as infrastructure projects resume. Opportunities include pipeline, terminal and energy infrastructure projects.
Shares of the company ended more than 1% higher at ₹267 on Friday, ahead of the press conference. The stock has risen about 32% so far in 2026.
