Dalal Street looks on a path of recovery as the Nifty rises over 70 points, taking the index close to 25,600. This is a crucial session for Nifty, as the index is coming on the back of two straight weekly losses in what could be the final week of this quarter's earnings season.

The US Senate has officially voted to end the longest government shutdown in US history. This could aid the markets further in today's trade.

For Nifty, it will also look at the downside; Friday's low of 25,318 also becomes a key level.

The Nifty Bank's 700-point recovery on Friday was a key contributor to the Nifty reversal and the focus will remain on banking stocks.
