Go Digit Q2 profit rises 30% on higher premium income, improved underwriting

Go Digit General Insurance Ltd

reported a 30.2% year-on-year rise in its net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2025, at ₹117 crore, aided by higher premium income and improved underwriting performance.

Profit before tax surged 53% to ₹136 crore from ₹89 crore in the same period last year.

Gross written premium (GWP) grew 12.6% to ₹2,667 crore from ₹2,369 crore a year earlier, driven by broad-based growth across segments including motor, health, and fire insurance. On a comparable basis, excluding the 1/n accounting adjustment, GWP grew 15.6% in the quarter. The company’s assets under management (AUM) rose 15.4% year-on-year to ₹21,345 crore as of September 30, 2025.

The insurer’s combined ratio-a key measure of underwriting profitability-improved to 111.4% from 112.2% last year, reflecting better operational efficiency and expense management. Without the 1/n adjustment, the combined ratio stood at 109.9%, an improvement of 2.3 percentage points year-on-year. The solvency ratio remained strong at 2.26x, comfortably above the regulatory minimum of 1.5x.

Go Digit said its loss ratio rose slightly to 73% in Q2 from 70.6% a year earlier, while the expense ratio declined to 38.4% from 41.6%, aided by efficiency gains in distribution and technology-driven processes.

During the quarter, investment income also grew, supported by a higher AUM base and improved yields, the company said. Unrealised gains stood at ₹677 crore as of September 30, 2025.

The company said it continues to leverage advanced technology, predictive underwriting models, and a strong distribution network to “make insurance simple” and enhance customer experience.

Shares of the company ended at a price of ₹360.70 on the BSE today, 2.3% higher than its last close. The stock has risen 18% so far this year.
