What is the story about?
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) has secured an order worth ₹1,200-1,500 crore from Hindalco Industries for the Aditya Expansion Project Phase II in Odisha.
The order is for the design, engineering, supply, installation, commissioning, and performance acceptance testing (PAT) of a 2 × 150 MW BTG (Boiler Turbine Generator) package at Aditya Aluminium, Hindalco's facility located in Lapanga, Sambalpur district, Odisha.
BHEL has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) for the project.
As per the contract terms, Unit 1 is scheduled to be commissioned within 35 months, while Unit 2 will be commissioned within 37 months from the effective date of the contract, which will be the date of issuance of the LoI.
Following the announcement, BHEL shares were trading 0.95% higher at ₹270.60 on Wednesday.
