Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: IT stocks have dragged the Nifty 50 down after five straight days of gains. The sell-off in India is starkly in contrast to the rest of Asia where markets hit a new record high in trade today.

The top five losers in trade today were all the IT majors i.e. TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, and HCLTech, ahead of the Sensex's weekly expiry

Eternal, Tata Steel, and Bajaj Auto were among the top gainers.

LG Electronics India shares recovered nearly half of the early losses as the management projected a stronger fourth quarter, in a conversation with CNBC-TV18.

Vodafone Idea erased the gains from yesterday after the downgrade from JPMorgan.

The sell-off intensified in the mid and small-cap space after a relatively benign start. Both indices were down over half a percentage point in the first hour of trade.

Yatra shares fell over 6.2% despite strong earnings growth in the latest third quarter.

Some names that will be in focus include IRCON, Godrej Industries, Patanjali Foods, Bayer Cropsciences, Lenskart, and more.

Some of the companies reporting their results today include Astra Microwave, Abbott India, Bharat Forge, Biocon, Coal India, Cohance Life, HAL, Hindalco, Indian Hotels, HUL, Lupin, Muthoot Finance, ONGC among others.
