Telangana signs ₹5.75 lakh crore pacts as Salman Khan, firms pledge big

The Telangana government has signed investment agreements worth ₹5.75 lakh crore at the Telangana Rising Global Summit, a two-day event that brought together world leaders, economists, and celebrities.

At the summit, which concluded on Tuesday, December 9, Telangana secured pacts with leading companies, including Reliance Consumer Products Limited, Aurobindo Pharma, Hetero, Bharat Biotech, and Godrej Industries Group, among others.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan also announced plans to invest ₹10,000 crore to establish a special township and a film and television studio.

The state additionally unveiled Telangana Rising 2047, outlining its ambition to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and to reach a $3 trillion SGDP by 2047.

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, who joined the event virtually, praised Telangana’s development over the past decade.

“From its early struggles, the state has reimagined itself as a powerhouse of technology, agriculture, and inclusive growth. In many ways, Telangana has become a model for other parts of the world,” he said.

Closer look at the investments

Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) plans to invest ₹1,500 crore to establish a multi-product FMCG manufacturing facility for beverages, snacks, confectionery, and other consumer products on 100 acres in Telangana. The project is expected to create 1,000 direct jobs.

Vintage Coffee and Beverages Ltd has signed an MoU to expand its operations in Telangana by setting up an export-oriented premium freeze-dried coffee (FDC) plant with an investment of ₹1,100 crore.

JCK Infra Projects Limited will establish data-centre facilities and ancillary infrastructure services with an investment of ₹9,000 crore, generating more than 2,000 jobs.

RCT Energy India Pvt Ltd proposes to invest ₹2,500 crore in the state in three phases, creating over 1,600 jobs.
