Blue Star Ltd on Sunday, February 1, informed stock exchanges that it has detected unauthorised access to certain product installation data. The company said it immediately took steps to restrict access after becoming aware of the incident and is working with cybersecurity experts to assess any potential impact and conduct a thorough root-cause analysis.
Blue Star added that the incident came to the attention of its compliance officer on January 31, 2026, at around 10:30 pm, and the disclosure is being
made as a matter of good governance.
Q3 results
The company reported a sharp 39% year-on-year (YoY) decline in consolidated net profit to ₹80.55 crore for the October–December quarter of FY26, compared with ₹132.46 crore in the year-ago period, and well below the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹123 crore. Earnings per share fell to ₹3.92 from ₹6.44 a year ago.
The decline in profitability was largely due to a one-time exceptional charge of ₹56.35 crore, arising from the recognition of an estimated incremental liability towards gratuity and leave encashment following the notification of four Labour Codes by the Government of India on November 21, 2025. The company said the provision, made in line with ICAI guidance, will be revisited in March 2026 once there is greater clarity on rules, wage definitions and employee coverage.
