Lumax Auto Q1 profit more than doubles to ₹87 crore as revenue jumps 33%

Lumax Auto Technologies reported a strong start to FY27, with consolidated net profit more than doubling to ₹86.6 crore in the June quarter, from ₹41.4 crore a year earlier, according to the company's exchange filing.

Revenue from operations rose 33% year-on-year to ₹1,363.6 crore, compared with ₹1,026.4 crore in the year-ago quarter. EBITDA increased 52.3% to ₹190.1 crore, from ₹124.8 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded to 14% from 12.2%.

Commenting on the performance, Managing Director Anmol Jain said the company had started FY27 on a strong note despite a challenging operating environment, with revenue growth of 33% and faster profitability growth. He said the performance was broad-based across product categories, supported by the continued scale-up of existing products and increasing penetration of its value-added product portfolio.

Jain said the automotive industry had also delivered a strong start to FY27, with production growing 22% year-on-year and all major vehicle segments reporting healthy traction. He added that vehicle premiumisation, rising adoption of advanced technologies and increasing content per vehicle continued to create opportunities for auto component manufacturers.

Lumax Auto Technologies said it remains focused on innovation and developing technologically advanced products, while seeking to increase its wallet share with existing customers, expand across new vehicle platforms, add customers across geographies and further strengthen its product portfolio.

Lumax Jopp stake sale

The company also said the sale of its entire 50% equity stake in subsidiary Lumax Jopp Allied Technologies Pvt Ltd to Jopp Holding GmbH, Germany, approved by its board on May 8, 2026, was completed during the June quarter. Consequently, Lumax Jopp Allied Technologies ceased to be a subsidiary of the company. The consolidated financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 include the entity's results up to June 29, 2026.

The company also disclosed the impact of India's labour codes. Following the government's notification of the four labour codes in November 2025, the group had assessed and accounted for the incremental impact based on available information and guidance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The impact of ₹14.50 crore was disclosed as an exceptional item in the consolidated financial results for the year ended March 31, 2026.
