Titagarh Rail wins ₹273-crore Indian Railways order for 62 maintenance vehicles

Kolkata-based Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd on Wednesday (December 17) said it has received a letter of acceptance from the Ministry of Railways for the design, manufacture, supply, testing, and commissioning of 62 rail borne maintenance vehicles (RBMVs).

The order, valued at ₹273.24 crore including GST, also includes training of Indian Railways personnel as well as servicing and breakdown maintenance. The RBMV is a specialised, self-propelled on-track maintenance machine engineered to facilitate inspection,

maintenance, and restoration of railway infrastructure.

The vehicles integrate advanced mechanised systems for track maintenance, overhead equipment works, and allied activities, aiming to improve operational safety, precision, reliability, and asset availability across the rail network.

The supply of the machines is scheduled to commence within 15 months from the date of the order, with delivery of all machines along with the full set of spares to be completed within 48 months.

The order marks TRSL’s entry into the high-value, technology-driven, and safety-critical segment of rail maintenance, expanding the company’s capabilities beyond rolling stock manufacturing into integrated rail safety and maintenance solutions.

Shares of Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd ended at ₹774.55, down by ₹15.25, or 1.93%, on the BSE today, December 17.
