Exclusive | Pramit Jhaveri to move on from Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, not seeking re-appointment

Pramit Jhaveri has decided to move on from his position as a trustee of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. Sources told CNBC-TV18 that Jhaveri has written to Tata Trust Chairman Noel Tata, informing him that he does not wish to be considered for re-appointment when his term expires on February 11, 2026.

In his letter, Jhaveri said it was an honour to serve as a trustee of the Tata Trusts and conveyed his best wishes to the Tata Trusts and the Tata Group. Sources further said that a Tata Trusts board meeting is likely to be scheduled in the next few weeks.

Jhaveri is a banker and director known for his long service at Citibank India, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from 2010 to 2019. He retired from Citibank in November 2019 after a 32-year career, having joined the firm in 1987. Prior to that, he was Vice Chairman – Banking, Asia Pacific at Citi.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Sydenham College, Mumbai University, and an MBA from the Simon School of Business, University of Rochester.
