What is the story about?
Wipro
on Thursday launched a new platform with Saudi Aramco and SAP to help companies manage planned shutdowns, maintenance turnarounds and outages at industrial facilities.
The platform, called Wipro STO360, is aimed at asset-heavy industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, mining, manufacturing and utilities. It is built on SAP’s Business Technology Platform and is designed to provide real-time visibility into activities across the shutdown and maintenance process.
Wipro said the platform can help companies coordinate teams, improve decision-making and manage maintenance programmes more efficiently. It is also designed to improve asset reliability and compliance while reducing operational risks.
The launch brings together Wipro’s industry and technology expertise with Aramco’s operational experience and SAP’s technology platform.
Vinay Firake, CEO of APMEA at Wipro, said asset-intensive industries are facing greater operational complexity and regulatory requirements, increasing the need for technology-led transformation.
Ahmad O. Al Khowaiter, Aramco’s executive vice president of technology and innovation, said the platform could help Aramco improve the efficiency and productivity of turnaround and inspection planning and execution.
Wipro has worked with Aramco for more than two decades across information technology, engineering and digital transformation. The companies have also collaborated on initiatives linked to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification programme.
Wipro STO360 has been recognised as an SAP Endorsed App and is available through the SAP Store.
Shares of Wipro closed at ₹166.40 on the NSE on Thursday, down 0.29%, or ₹0.49, from the previous close.
