Infrastructure playerHindustan Construction Company (HCC) on Thursday, February 12, reported a turnaround in its third quarter performance, posting a net profit of ₹8 crore compared with a loss of ₹38.9 crore in the same period last year.
Its revenue for the quarter declined 8.1% year-on-year to ₹925.3 crore from ₹1,006 crore. The company’s EBITDA improved sharply, coming in at ₹67.2 crore versus an EBITDA loss of ₹30.7 crore a year ago, reflecting better operating performance during the quarter.
In standalone terms, HCC reported a decline in turnover for Q3FY26, with revenue coming in at ₹921.8 crore compared with ₹1,002.1 crore in Q3FY25.
Despite the lower turnover, the company posted a standalone net profit of ₹85.9 crore in Q3FY26, against a loss of ₹216.4 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Standalone EBITDA margins improved to 15.2% from 14.7% year-on-year, indicating better operating performance.

New ₹577.89-crore project
In a separate exchange filling, HCC informed that it has secured a railway contract valued at approximately ₹577.89 crore from the Northeast Frontier Railway. The project has been awarded to the HCC-VCCL joint venture, in which HCC holds a 65% stake.
As per the company, the work includes balance of work construction of four critical tunnels along with cut-and-cover works.
It also covers earthwork in embankment and cutting to form the railway alignment, as well as protection and ancillary works between the Piphema and Zubza section under the Dimapur-Kohima New BG line project.

Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) shares closed at ₹20.15 on the NSE on February 12, ending the session up by ₹0.25 or 1.26%.
