Reliance Industries Ltd. has laid the foundation stone for Vantara University, a global institution dedicated to training wildlife conservationists and veterinary scientists. Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani, made the announcement at the company's 49th Annual General Meeting on Friday, June 19.
The announcement comes as Vantara, the wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and conservation initiative based in Jamnagar, completes one year since its launch.
Speaking at the AGM, Ambani described Vantara as one of the world's greatest efforts in wildlife conservation, rescue and rehabilitation.

"This year marks the first anniversary of Vantara. And this year, we also laid the foundation stone of Vantara University – a global university dedicated to training the next generation of wildlife conservationists and veterinary scientists," she said.
Ms. Ambani said the facility in Jamnagar is not merely a sanctuary but a large-scale conservation initiative guided by the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, or "the world is one family".
According to her, more than 1.5 lakh rescued, injured, orphaned, and endangered animals have found shelter at Vantara.

The wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre was inaugurated in Jamnagar on March 4, 2025.
Spread across 3,000 acres within the Jamnagar Refinery Complex, the facility serves as a rescue and rehabilitation centre for abused, injured and endangered animals.
Conceptualised under the leadership of Anant Ambani, the project has received the Prani Mitra National Award in the corporate category, India's highest recognition in animal welfare.
