Hyderabad-based Astra Microwave Products
reported a weaker first quarter, with profit, revenue and EBITDA declining year-on-year, while the company also announced a leadership change at the top.
Net profit fell 24.5% to ₹12 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹16 crore a year ago. Revenue declined 11.5% to ₹177 crore, compared with ₹200 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while EBITDA fell 17.6% to ₹33.7 crore from ₹41 crore.
The EBITDA margin stood at 19%, against 20.4% a year earlier.
S. Gurunatha Reddy will step down as Managing Director and Director with effect from the close of business on September 30, 2026. The board has appointed M.V. Reddy, currently the company’s Joint Managing Director, as Managing Director from October 1.
Reddy’s appointment will be for the balance of his existing tenure, which runs until April 29, 2028, and is subject to shareholder approval at the ensuing Annual General Meeting.
Last month, Astra Microwave secured a ₹2,205.23 crore order from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) for the supply of equipment for the Uttam Radar programme. The order is to be executed over five years.
The order is nearly twice Astra Microwave’s FY26 revenue of around ₹1,163 crore, providing significant long-term revenue visibility for the company.
Post the earnings announcement, shares of Astra Microwave Products fell over 6%, hitting an intraday low of ₹1,675, against a high of ₹1,846.90 on the NSE.
