Powered by Ola’s domestically developed 4680 Bharat Cells, Ola शक्ति is positioned as India’s first residential BESS, as claimed by company, that is fully designed, engineered, and manufactured within the country. The product is aimed at households, farms, and small businesses, and is intended to function as a portable, on-demand energy storage solution.
Ola Electric said the move underscores its focus on innovation and technological self-reliance in the energy storage segment.
A spokesperson for Ola Electric said the launch represents a significant step in the company’s broader energy ambitions, adding that Ola शक्ति is designed to make energy storage more accessible and reliable for Indian consumers.
The system offers automotive-grade safety features and is positioned as an alternative to conventional lead-acid inverters and diesel generators. It provides instant changeover with zero milliseconds delay, operates within an input voltage range of 200V to 240V, and includes IP67-rated, spill-proof batteries designed to withstand dust, water, and monsoon conditions. Ola Electric also stated that the system has zero running and maintenance costs.
Built on the company’s core technology platform, Ola शक्ति includes digital features that allow users to monitor battery status and energy flow in real time. The system is designed to analyse usage patterns and provide insights aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing costs.
Ola शक्ति will be available in four configurations: 1kW/1.5kWh, 1kW/3kWh, 3kW/5.2kWh, and 6kW/9.1kWh. Depending on the configuration, the system can power appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, induction cookers, farm pumps, and communication equipment. Charging times can be as fast as two hours, with backup capacity of up to 1.5 hours at full load.

Reservations for Ola शक्ति are open on the Ola Electric website at a booking amount of ₹999.
Shares of Ola Electric Mobility Limited were trading at ₹39.49 on the exchanges, down marginally by ₹0.01, or 0.03%.
