Nasdaq futures rise as tech stocks rally after Nvidia, Salesforce earnings

US stock futures climbed on Thursday, August 27, led by technology shares after strong earnings from Nvidia and other major companies boosted investor sentiment, while markets remained focused on the Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole gathering.

Futures tied to the Nasdaq-100 rose around 1%, while S&P 500 futures gained about 0.5%. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures hovered near the flatline.

Nvidia shares jumped around 6% in premarket trading after the chipmaker beat analysts’ expectations and forecast strong revenue growth. The company said it expects revenue growth to reach 70% in fiscal 2028, well above the 44% expected by analysts surveyed by LSEG. Nvidia’s fiscal second-quarter revenue more than doubled from a year earlier.

The upbeat outlook lifted other semiconductor stocks in premarket trading. Marvell Technology gained nearly 4%, while Micron Technology and Arm Holdings rose more than 3%.

Other technology companies also advanced following their earnings reports. Salesforce jumped about 10% in premarket trading after reporting second-quarter revenue above Wall Street estimates. Okta surged more than 17% after beating analyst expectations and reporting strong demand linked to agentic artificial intelligence.

CrowdStrike shares rose as much as 10% after the cybersecurity company reported record net new annual recurring revenue of $333 million in the second quarter.

Investors are also assessing the outlook for US interest rates ahead of the Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole gathering. Bond yields have stabilised after rising sharply last week as markets weighed Treasury market intervention and the likelihood that the Fed could keep interest rates unchanged.

On the economic front, weekly jobless claims data due on Thursday will provide another reading on the health of the US labour market.
