What is the story about?
TrueRE Oriana Power has signed a long-term green ammonia offtake agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) worth about ₹3,135 crore, the company said in an exchange filing on Wednesday, April 1.
The agreement involves the supply of 60,000 tonnes per annum of green ammonia at a discovered price of ₹52.25 per kg over a period of 10 years. The corresponding sale agreement has been executed between SECI and Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd, which will act as the end-offtaker.
The project will be developed in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, with Oriana Power responsible for end-to-end execution, including development, approvals and land clearances. The company had earlier received the Letter of Award for the project in August 2025 under the government’s Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) programme.

The agreement was formalised on March 30 at a ceremony in New Delhi in the presence of senior government officials, including Union ministers from the ministries of new and renewable energy and chemicals and fertilisers.
Commenting on the development, Anirudh Saraswat, Founder and Chief Business Officer of TrueRE Oriana Power, said, “This agreement marks a key step in translating policy intent into execution. Long-term offtake visibility is critical to scaling green hydrogen and its derivatives.”
He added that green ammonia can play a key role in reducing dependence on imported fossil-based feedstocks, particularly in sectors such as fertilisers, and contribute to India’s energy self-reliance.
The deal marks Oriana Power’s expansion into green fuels, adding to its existing renewable energy portfolio spanning solar generation, energy storage and emerging clean energy solutions.
Shares of the company closed 12.16% at ₹1,732 ahead of the announcement on Wednesday. The stock has declined 23.03% year-to-date, while delivering a 29%
