In 2018, Nasreen Hashmi received a life-altering diagnosis of oral cancer following a biopsy. The news profoundly impacted her husband, actor Sharib Hashmi,
who was visibly shaken upon learning of the report. In a candid recollection, Nasreen described how she found herself comforting Sharib, reassuring him that they would navigate the challenge together and that everything would ultimately be alright, despite his deep distress.
An Ongoing Struggle
The Hashmi family has been engaged in a prolonged fight against cancer, with Nasreen experiencing multiple relapses. She has undergone five surgical procedures to combat the disease. Tragically, the cancer has recurred six times, with the current instance indicating a widespread progression. Nasreen's treatment is actively underway, a situation that understandably brings a multitude of thoughts and concerns to the forefront for both her and her family as they confront this persistent adversary.

Throughout this arduous journey, Sharib Hashmi has demonstrated remarkable dedication to his wife's well-being. Nasreen recounted how, regardless of his professional commitments or filming schedules, Sharib consistently made it a point to be present at the hospital. His commitment was so profound that he would remain by her side, bag in tow, from the moment of admission until her discharge, refusing to leave her alone.
