What is DAC?
In response to concerns about potential LPG shortages and fraudulent activities diverting supplies, the Indian government has implemented a robust system
known as the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC). This unique code serves as a vital verification step for every LPG cylinder delivery across the nation. The primary objective behind this initiative is to curb black-market diversions and ensure that cylinders reach their rightful consumers securely and efficiently. The DAC system is now operational nationwide, with a significant majority, over 90%, of all deliveries successfully authenticated through this method following recent enhancements, demonstrating its widespread adoption and effectiveness in streamlining the delivery process and enhancing consumer trust.
Booking Your Cylinder
The process of booking your LPG cylinder remains familiar and straightforward, offering multiple convenient channels for consumers. You can continue to place your bookings through traditional methods such as IVRS calls, sending an SMS from your registered mobile number, or by visiting the official website of your LPG distributor. These established booking procedures are unaffected by the new DAC system, ensuring continuity and ease of access for all customers. Regardless of how you choose to book your cylinder, the next step in the process will seamlessly integrate with the DAC verification.
Receiving Your DAC
Once your LPG cylinder has been booked through any of the available channels, a unique Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) is generated and dispatched to your registered mobile number. This code is essential for the final handover of your cylinder. Recognizing the need for broader accessibility, the DAC is now also conveniently available via WhatsApp and email, providing customers with multiple ways to receive this crucial verification code. This ensures that you have the DAC readily accessible, whether you prefer instant mobile alerts or a more formal email record for your delivery.
Delivery Verification Process
Treat your Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) with the same importance and discretion as you would an OTP (One-Time Password). It is imperative that you only share this code with the authorized delivery agent upon their arrival. The system is designed such that the LPG cylinder will not be handed over to you without a successful verification of this code, even if you have already completed the payment for your order. This strict protocol is in place to guarantee that cylinders reach the intended recipients and to prevent any unauthorized access or misuse of the delivery service, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the LPG distribution network.
