New E-Scooter Entry
A significant new player has entered the electric scooter arena, aiming to redefine personal urban mobility with an accessible price point. This newcomer,
which enters the market with an ex-showroom price tag of ₹99,900, signifies a strategic shift for its manufacturer from primarily focusing on commercial electric vehicles to catering to individual consumers. The scooter is slated to be widely available, reaching customers through an extensive network of over 200 dealerships strategically placed in both major metropolitan areas and smaller towns across the country, ensuring broad accessibility for interested buyers.
Performance and Range
This electric scooter boasts a robust performance package designed for everyday commuting. It is powered by a 3.45 kWh LMFP battery coupled with a 3kW hub motor, enabling it to achieve a respectable top speed of 70km/h. Real-world testing indicates a practical range exceeding 110km on a single charge, which is more than sufficient for daily city travel. Riders can tailor their experience with three distinct riding modes: Eco for maximum efficiency, City for balanced performance, and Sports for a more dynamic ride. The scooter also features a convenient color LCD display, a USB charging port for on-the-go device power, and a reverse assist function for easier maneuvering in tight spots. A noteworthy charging capability allows the battery to reach 80% capacity in just four hours.
Competitive Edge
Positioned attractively below key competitors, such as a comparable model priced at ₹1.05 lakh, this new electric scooter offers a compelling value proposition. Beyond its competitive pricing, it matches and in some areas surpasses the features offered by rivals. Key advantages include its faster charging capability, reducing downtime for users, and a well-equipped braking system featuring a front disk brake for reliable stopping power and a rear drum brake for added safety. The manufacturer has ambitious sales targets, aiming to distribute 15,000 units annually, with a significant portion, 9,000 units, designated for the domestic Indian market and the remaining 6,000 for international sales, suggesting its potential widespread adoption.
