Range and Charging Boost
The upcoming 2027 electric sedan is set to redefine long-distance travel with significant improvements in its electric powertrain. A key highlight is the
introduction of a larger battery, contributing to an impressive WLTP-rated range of up to 925 kilometers for the EQS 450+ variant. While real-world figures in markets like the US might be closer to 644 kilometers, this still represents a substantial leap forward for electric vehicle utility. Complementing the enhanced range is a newly implemented 800-volt electrical system. This advanced architecture not only supports faster charging capabilities, significantly reducing downtime, but also works in conjunction with upgraded electric motors to deliver improved performance and efficiency. The overall goal of these substantial revisions is to make long journeys more practical and charging stops less frequent, enhancing the overall ownership experience for drivers.
Design and New Variants
Beyond the core technological advancements, the 2027 electric sedan also sees notable updates to its exterior design and an expansion of its model lineup. The front fascia has been restyled, featuring redesigned lighting elements that lend a fresh and modern aesthetic to the vehicle. Inside, the acclaimed MBUX Hyperscreen, a sprawling digital cockpit, remains a central feature, offering an immersive and intuitive user interface. A significant addition to the range is the introduction of the EQS 500 4Matic version. This new variant broadens the appeal of the electric sedan, offering consumers more choice in terms of performance and configuration. These updates, encompassing both technological prowess and aesthetic refinement, signal a considerable evolution for this luxury electric vehicle, with market availability expected from the second half of 2026.
