The Deauville American Film Festival has unveiled the lineup of films screening at the upcoming 2026 edition, including numerous French premieres for some the year’s
buzziest movies.
Among the titles set to land at the festival in the French seaside town are Florian Zeller’s “Bunker,” fresh from its world premiere in Venice, plus “Butterfly Jam” from Kantemir Balaov, Andy Garcia’s “Diamond,” Nicolas Winding Refn’s latest feature “Her Private Hell,” Olivia Wilde’s “The Invitation,” which recently released in the U.S. to acclaim, “Mother Mary” from David Lowery, Jane Schoenbrun’s “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” and Ira Sachs “The Man I Love.”
Meanwhile, the festival competition packs a decent punch. The 13-strong lineup includes Jordan Firstman’s Cannes breakout “Club Kid,” Casey Affleck’s Venice-bowing “Company” and Berlinale winner “Everybody Digs Bill Evans.”
Other films competing are “A Prayer for the Dying,” “Here I’m Alive,” “I’ll be Gone in June,” “If I Go Will They Miss me,” “Mixed Block,” “Mouse,” “Party USA,” “Queen at Sea,” “Test” and “The Liberation of Rita Cooper.”
Away from the films on screen, Deauville has amassed an enviable array of stars, veterans and newcomers, who will collect its various honors.
Brendan Fraser, star of “Control” and an Oscar winner in 2024 for “The Whale,” will receive the Deauville Talent Award, as will five-time Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke. Icon Awards will go to Faye Dunaway and Susan Surandon, while “Heretic” breakout Sophie Thatcher and “The White Lotus” star Patrick Schwarzenegger will both receive Rising Star awards.
The 2026 Deauville American Film Festival will run Sep 4-13.
