Marvel launched the “Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast,” a new video podcast on Disney+, YouTube and audio platforms, recapping the films in the MCU’s Infinity Saga leading up to the latest movie.
The
podcast is hosted by Iman Vellani, the star of Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel,” and Frank Alvarez, co-host of comedy podcast “The Basement Yard.” Together, the pair rewatch and discuss films from the Infinity Saga, working their way up to “Avengers: Doomsday,” which releases in theaters Dec. 18.
In each episode, Vellani and Alvarez revisit one film with a recap and in-depth conversation. The pair talk through specific scenes and give insight into the Avengers’ journey, all while “celebrating the MCU’s most iconic moments,” per Marvel. The two hosts speculate about the themes, characters and stories that might shape the reunion coming in “Doomsday.”
“Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast” covers five films from the Infinity Saga: “The Avengers” (the subject of the podcast’s Aug. 27 debut episode); “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (Sept. 3); “Captain America: Civil War” (Sept. 10); “Avengers: Infinity War” (Sept. 17); and “Avengers: Endgame” (Sept. 24). All five films are available to stream on Disney+. The fifth episode of the podcast will coincide with the Sept. 25, 2026, re-release of “Avengers Endgame: Encore” in theaters.
The “Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast” is produced in partnership with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions. Vellani and Alvarez join as producers.
